Plot & Details
An attempt to evoke the emotional fallout of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster onscreen, Juanita Wilson's short feature The Door utilizes a non-linear narrative and unfolds almost entirely within Pripyat, the now-vacated Ukrainian community all but decimated from nuclear radiation. It opens with an enigma - an impacted Russian man steals his own door and drives it on the back of a motorcycle through a dense forest - then jumps back in time to explore the mysterious and devastating events that prompted this action.
