From him (Fincher), we get – what? – a faithful adaptation that brings the dazzle but shortchanges on the daring. show more

The resulting film is neither better nor worse than the Swedish film, but it's more cinematic. show more

Fincher's electrifying storytelling makes the most of unsettling visuals, large casts, complex plots and sharp dialogue. show more

Has much to recommend it - high-end craftsmanship, a singular heroine, a labyrinthine mystery, an intriguing milieu - yet lacks a vital spark. show more

This beautifully taut and terrifying thriller is faithful to its source in just about every way that matters. show more

He (Fincher) gives in to its mimicry of an Agatha Christie parlor game. Only instead of Miss Marple, the old-gal crime-solver with piercing blue eyes, we get Lisbeth Salander, pierced goth-girl investigator with raccoon eyes. show more

Dragon Tattoo is too neatly wrapped up, too fastidious to get under your skin and stay there. show more

Craig has one clear advantage over Michael Nyqvist, the actor who played the same character in the Swedish Girl movies: He has erotic charisma to spare, as opposed to Nyqvist's perfunctory, doughy sexuality. show more

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo can stand on its own as Fincher's valentine to goth girl power, detective stories, and the grotesqueness of the human heart. show more

If there's a complaint, it's that it flirts with rambling once the main case is solved -- nearly 20 minutes before the movie ends. But Fincher uses that remaining time to expand on Lisbeth's character, which is hard to hold against him. show more

I loved the book and this movie was good, but I liked the Swedish version better. I liked Naomi Rapace better the Rooney Mara in the lead. The Swedish version was more intense and I thought the acting was better.

brilliant story of suspense and action, the film has a simple script and the story flows well is tied correctly, film research with an established and well-told story, the downside is due to the bad choice of the actor who plays the villain, was noticeable from the beginning who was responssavel crimes, but the end it was still surprising.

A big surprise! Far superior to the original, my opinion of course. Easy to follow and just like reading the book, full of detail with observation.

Plot was good-acting okay-gratuitous sex, rape etc. disgusting and not needed. If I wanted to see a soft porn movie I would have rented one.

What the hell ... they needed to remake a two year old movie for what reason? Too difficult for English audiences to read subtitles?!? See the original you will be happier.
