  • What's on screen in The Grandmaster is off-puttingly disjointed, but it's also dazzling in its startling action and ravishing romance. show more

  • The Grandmaster, may well be the definitive illustration of kung fu in all its arcane schools and intricate styles. There's never been anything like it — a seemingly endless flow of spectacular images in a story about Ip Man (Tony Leung), the legendary kung-fu master who trained Bruce Lee. show more

  • True to Wong’s style, The Grandmaster is infused with melancholy and a near-existentialist resignation to the uncertainties of fate. show more

Not very good compared to the other 2 IP Man movies. If you liked Crounching Tiger... you will like this movie. But it offers a different perspective of IP man's life. All in all it's a watchable film.

This movie really sucked because they cut more than 20 minutes of important parts from the original version, so I was confusing how every sequence tied together and thus the whole story. I am a Wing Chun practioner and I was disappointed not to see the details of the movement in slow motion. Also, how could they tried to fool everyone by having the female speaking Madarin and the male speaking Cantonese in a love story? I was very impressed with the award winning cinematography.

This movie sucked, the fight seen in the rain in the begining sucked. All the other fight seens sucked. To much talking in which you had to read the subtitles. To much lovey dovey stuff. I don\'t mine a little bit of amor in the movie but not thewhole movie. I was ready to walk out, but i felt i might as well stick through since i watched this far. If you like IP man 1,2,3 this doesn\'t come close. Don\'t even watch it on DVD. Just let someone else tell you how much it sucked eggs.
