    Peter Travers Rolling Stone

A terrifically exciting, deeply unsettling survivalist epic. show more

    Amy Biancolli San Francisco Chronicle

A handsome but gabby take on the standard survivalist thriller that's more concerned with lofty metaphysics than which poor blockhead is about to bite it next. show more

The computer-generated wolves have more personality than any of the dull characters in The Grey. show more

Mr. Carnahan has till now been pigeonholed, and rightly, by comedy shoot-'em-ups like "Smokin' Aces" and "The A-Team." But here he is with The Grey - certainly an adventure film but one with a spiritual ingredient that is both surprising and fiercely resonant. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

The Grey, whose clipped title, grim swagger, and lost-in-the-outback themes conjure up visions of that Alec Baldwin/Anthony Hopkins classic, "The Edge," devolves into a predictable man-against-nature, and man-against-fellow man, affair. show more

Joe Neumaier New York Daily News

The gristle inside this movie is one of the things that save it from being simply a series of challenges. show more

    The Hollywood Reporter

The Grey, a man's-man of a genre picture that will satisfy the action audience while reminding more discerning viewers what they saw in director Joe Carnahan's decade-old breakthrough, "Narc." show more

The movie might not be a vengeance-driven wolf-man cage fight, but in subverting those escapist expectations, it sinks its teeth far deeper and more memorably. show more

What is surprising is how poetic the movie is, partly thanks to its high-lonesome sound design and the desolate beauty of its visuals, but mostly because of its star, Liam Neeson. show more

Sit through the entire credits. There's one more shot still to come. Not that you wouldn't be content without it. show more

*SPOILER ALERT* The trailer made this look like it would be a battle between plane wreck survivors and a pack of wolves, like there was some hope in their struggle. The movie would have been more appropriately named \"Men slaughtered by a wolf pack\".

As usual Liam Neeson is a great actor and without him this movie was very lame. www.moviezya.com

Not too bad of a film. I was expecting a lot worse. Good violence and a little gore never hurt no one... much.

ZZZZZZZ.....fell asleep through the whole thing. VERY VERY slow and draggy. I hated all the weird visions he had about his wife, it was killing the mood of the movie. Although I loved the vivid visual effects of the movie and the utterly gruesome actions of the wolves. It was disturbing, graphic and horrififying.

Entertaining movie. Something to watch for a couple hours. Good but certainly not Neesom\'s best work.

Save your money. Don\'t let the kids watch it. because they were going for the record on dropping the F-Bomb in a movie. I like Neeson, but this was a stinker with a contrived storyline.
