This was the worst movie I have ever seen. The acting was so bad we laughed out loud at a few parts. There was no real story line and nothing was resolved. I want my 90 minutes back. I though Mark Wahlberg was better than this.

Just like every other M.Night movie, "The Happening" was OUTSTANDING! The Happening, just like most of Night's movies, makes you think. You have to have an imagination and a functioning intellect to appreciate FICTION people! M.Night is on his way to be a legend just like Spielberg. FIVE STARS for The Happening!!!

Creepy. Very different type of thriller flick. Interesting storyline.

the movie was just OK for me. i wouldve expected a lot more from m. night. i think hes a great director, but he needs to try directing someone elses script. i liked the plot besides the end where coinsidentally the event ended right when they went outside, but overall it was not a great movie. like "venuslookinglass" i love m. night's work so ignoring the bad reviews i went to see the movie, and not i myself am giving a bad review...this movie in my opinion (and visibly everyone elses) was a huge failure, as great as it looked. also like venus, i liked the scientific aspect which i think made it very interesting. open for a sequel, but i realy dont want one. and another thing, um, hello, its supposed to be HORROR. it wasnt even SCARY. the only good actor was the old lady from "cats."

I got the scientific aspect of the movie and I typically LOVE M. Night Shyamalan movies which is why I wanted to go see it despite the bad things I heard. The truth is, I didn't have a problem with the plot or even the fact that the ending could have used a little more substance. What I did have a problem with was the terrible acting by a cast who is normally on-point! The lines were so dry and cliche it made me uncomfortable. It was almost like they were rushing through the making of the film and didn't want to make what they were thinking and feeling slightly believable. Either that or the cast and crew didn't like one another...I felt like I had paid to be on set during a bad day.

HORRIBLE movie. Nothing happens......nothing gets explained....and they left it open at the end. 90 minutes of wasted time.

this movie was so STUPID! it should not have been rated R. there was nothing in it!i think it was just rated R because M.Night has never made a movie that is rated R before. truthfully M.Night hasnt made a decent movie since the sixthsence. this movie was predictable and boring, most definatly a let down if you are looking for a scary thriller.

There's actually a scientific explanation for this movie. Scientists call it the process of habitat transformation. Very interesting. Research if interested. But anyways, good movie. Obviously not liked by those who need every little thing spelled out for them. A movie is not required to hold its audience's hand every step of the way. God forbid there was actual thinking involved.

I am probably one the biggest supporter's of M. Night but I have been torn now with his most recent flick! Immediately I was intrigued by the idea of something "invisible" taking over the cities..but it soon became lackluster. Intriguing beginning, extremely weakening ending! I have taken some time to consider all possibles decisions M. Night could have been trying to make, but have determined that he either ran out of funds or just ideas. In no way does this change the respect I have for such an artist; but I do however, believe that he should've taken more time to develop the great ideas that were taking place in the beginning of the film. I think the only thing that helped the film survive the couple of watching hours was the relationship between Mark Walberg and Zooey Deschanel...great characters, deep characters..which M.Night never lets us down there. But the plot was a far reach from his previous intense works! More focus and better luck next time!
