McCarthy is a force of comic nature. And she and Bullock mix it up like pros. In this dead-battery of a movie, these live-wires miraculously ignite sparks. show more

Don't believe the weak coming-attractions trailer. The inspired pairing of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy makes for a successful action comedy. show more

The Heat is the best female buddy-cop movie since, well, ever. show more

Grotesque doesn't begin to describe Ms. McCarthy's new character. Scarily insane comes closer; repulsive occasionally applies. Mullins's insanity can be extremely funny from time to time, but her anger grows as punishing for the audience as it does for the victims of her unrestrained police work. show more

This profanely hilarious and tonally erratic spoof of buddy movies is funny as it begins in "Miss Congeniality 2" territory, funnier still as it zooms into "Lethal Weapon" climes. But it stops dead, and I mean that literally, when it takes a U-turn into a "Pulp Fiction" sinkhole of slapstick violence. show more

Every foul-mouthed joke [McCarthy] cracks, every unexpected physical gag she underplays, is so funny you forget how often we’ve seen this setup. Or, when it comes to women, how rarely. show more

The script's simpleminded shenanigans notwithstanding, the two stars sync up better than their characters do, especially with some rough-and-tumble physical slapstick, resulting in a crude, low-brow audience-pleaser that will hit the funny bones of both performers' fan bases. show more

A bawdy and belligerent comedy, meant mostly for folks looking for nothing more than to enjoy a few laughs. show more

If The Heat is about more than being a well-oiled delivery system for impressive and effective comedy, it's in part about what it means to be a good cop — including the question of how gender does or doesn't factor into that. show more

Melissa McCarthy is unstoppable and Sandra Bullock plays against type as the uptight straight man in this hilarious buddy pic. It\'s freakin sweet to see a buddy cop movie w/2 chicks! I laughed my face off! A Beverly Hills cop bro-mance, but with women.

This movie was way more funny than I expected there really wasn\'t a moment I stopped laughing. The fat woman plays the same role in every movie she\'s in though.

Fun buddy movie...the language is rough however and may offend some older viewers. We laughed all through it.

went to this movie not expecting much, except that Sandra Bullock would be funny. I got a lot more than that for my money. Great chemistry and direction between Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. The movie made me laugh and kept my interest with the plot.

A very funny movie and Sandra was great in a very laid back manner that you wouldn\'t expect of a List A star. yes a lot of profanity but appropriate in the story context.

I thought this movie was hysterical. Did have foul language but don\'t let that deter you from seeing a funny movie from start to finish. Can\'t wait until it\'s released on DVD. I hope Melissa and Sandra make many more movies together. Paired they are pure comedic genius!
