Liked it a lot. The 48 frames a minute worked for me. The action and 3D was helped by it. Looking forward for more.

Rehash of old battle scenes form the previous movies, with only a sliver of a plot. Save your money.

I didn't realize that this was going to be another \"Lord of the Rings\" type trilogy. It was a little long winded, but very similar to the Rings trilogy. There is definitely going to be one or two more movies before the story is completely told. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

Great animation, scenery, costumes... not very good dialogue, no humor, no well coreographed sword fights, the babe Kate Blanchett is only on the screen for a minute... even the trolls were boring... the only really great scene was with Gollum in the cave... that was incredible animation and witty character confrontations. Also, the 3D 48 fps looked artificial. My brain prefers the slight out

Ok-the good parts, plenty of great scenery and the cast was good. But the movie was SLOWWWWWWW. Its pace was really long and boring. It didn't help that they showed 12 previews of other films before the movie started. I had to pee so bad and the theatre was freezing and cold. the effects were nice, but my gosh...I would wait for the video and watch in the comfort of your home.
