Average movie. It gets an A for showing how difficult it is for the G.I.s to figure out who is a bad guy and who is a good guy. (the pressure on the G.I. is palpable..........do I shoot this guy and kill him......or do I wait and see if he does something bad.....or will it be too late then?). The movie gets a few F grades. There must be a story behind the phrase..."the hurt locker"....what is that story?. There must be a story behind or about the Bomb Suit....what is that story? Unless a suicide bomber detonates a bomb, the bombs are set off by remote control.........there must be a story as to why in this movie the bomb disposal squad guys always walk up to a bomb.......isn't that what the bad guys want....either a convoy or a bomb tech to go up to the area of the bomb so it can be detonated to hurt someone.........what is that story....as to the decision making there? Did we really have to watch what seemed like 20 minutes of the guys when they were back at base camp........slug each other in the stomach? An average movie with more questions than answer.......but a movie which makes one have empathy for the brave GIs who have to make life and death decisions in very stressful *************.

ABOLUTELY AMAZING!! If this movie does not get something from either the Golden Globes or the Oscars, then there is NO JUSTICE in the world! Jeremy Renner is fantastic!! And remember, this is based on real life military personnel, whose jobs are to actually denonate bombs on a daily basis!! Go....see this movie!! It will blow you away (no pun intended!!)

I liked it, but I didn't find it nearly as intense as many others have. The acting is excellent, but the way the movie was put together seemed disjointed, had no real charecter development, and was simply one action scene after another. Good movie, not great.

Probably the "Best" of the recent Iraq genre films I have seen. It doesn't "preach" at you or take any political side toward the war; Rather this film shows you the people "in it" and what they experience on a daily basis. Jeremy Renner gives an outstanding performance, in fact, the entire ensemble cast just terrific! Guy Pearce and Ralph Fiennes give "short" but memorable performances as the two mainstay actors in the cast as well. I think is probably one of the best films I've seen so far this year in terms of good story, good acting and realistic effects..Go see it!

Keeps you on the edge of your seat, but certain parts are unrealistic. It is still definitely worth seeing though.

I dont know what all the fuss is about. These guys are EOD Not snipers, that scene was Totally unrealistic...No 3 guys just run around without any supervision like they did. Full of plot holes etc....once in awhile it would be nice when they make an Army movie to get input from real Army people...geeesh 9 years US Army disabled veteran writing this.

This movie is ********** as real as it gets without actually being real. Everyone should see this. I had to go to Evanston just to see it since it isn't on a screen in my area. Its pitiful that movies like I love you Beth Cooper get a screen in my area instead of this. It was worth the drive and if you are a vet like me you will like it, and if you are not you will like it too. Outstanding!

Saw this yesterday. The small theater was packed. It's nonstop action about men fighting in Iraq and war and fighting as a drug. It's a little like watching the evening news ******** engrossing and gives you a real sense of ********* like being there. My husband wanted to see Borat but I thought this would be more socially responsible. It wasn't wrong! If you want a good war movie, see this.
