Latest on The Killing of John Lennon
We've seen tons of movies about both John Lennon and The Beatles. One focused on the early days of the band; another focused on the killing of Lennon. Documentaries galore displayed the artist's life and/or career, comprehensively or specifically. And, of...
At once a mainstream and experimental film, The Killing of John Lennon traps itself (and the audience) inside the warped psyche of culture-assassin Mark David Chapman, keeping the camera on him pretty much from start to credits. Only his on-the-record...
After a Tribeca screening of The Killing of John Lennon at Pace University last week, director Andrew Piddington hung around to answer some questions from the crowd. The biggest question, which someone finally dared to ask, was how come when we see Mark...

fair points he was a great musician. but to be honest the image the director was trying to persue was that of the idea mark chapman realised john lennon was a phony, he said in his song about how you ... dont need everything to be happy in the world yet he still wanted everything. hipocrite springs to mind? maybe mark chapman was one of the only ones to realise he was a fake and that the killing of him made people look at it in a different perspective. i say watch this film in terms of the budget put into the production it is excellent and dont read the naive critics who complain about times square not looking like it did in the 80's because thats near enough impossible Full Review
Being a fan of the Beatles since that Sunday night in 1964 I, and I'm sure other Beatle fans as well, think nothing can explain why that A-hole did what he did.The guy shot a Beatle! And not just any ... Beatle. John was the founder of the group that changed music forever. They influenced a whole decade. He preached peace and love only to have his life cut short in such a cowardly fashion.I hope nobody watches this movie. Full Review
After two decades of refusing to utter the name of John Lennon's murderer, these people decide to glorify one of the worst assasinations of the 20th century. However the movie treats him, whatever it ... might uncover about the inner workings of an evil murderer, or whatever excuse the filmmakers had, it gives the assassin the notoriety and fame he killed one of the legendary talents and cultural forces in history to acquire. I agree with the previous writer and hopes no one puts one dollar into the hands of these filmmakers and that the murderers name again goes unspoken until the end of time. Full Review
