The new Mummy is, how can I put it? Just freakin' awful. show more

As for Fraser, his clumsy humanity is endearing, but by now, assuming he has invested wisely, he should have enough money saved so as to not have to waste his talent anymore. show more

Remarkably, the plot has much in common with "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," yet that bundle of fun has enough vision to make even its Barry Manilow interlude seem appropriate. show more

The best news about this clangorous clunker is that it may well have vanquished the Mummy franchise. show more

The movie bogs down in tiresome good guys vs. bad guys action cliches. show more

Boredom is the very basis of this sequel, at least at the beginning. show more

Too much of the proceedings are silly rather than horrifying, with the nadir being the appearance of some particularly athletic Yetis who briefly pitch in to lend a hand. show more

Now why did I like this movie? It was just plain dumb fun, is why. It is absurd and preposterous, and proud of it. show more

When I go to a Mummy movie, I don't want ninjas and yetis and men turned to stone. I want embalmed corpses and hieroglyphics. I want pharaoh. I want pyramids and sphinxes and Ace bandages. Did "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" take place on the Nile? show more

Still passable popcorn fare, even if you'll barely taste it before swallowing. show more

I've liked all the Mummy movies and this was no different, not as good maybe but an enjoyable film none the less. There's only two sore points in the film with me. From the last movie, Alex grew way too fast. He should have been maybe 13 to 15 years old tops. Brendon Fraser has a long way to go before he needs a son as old as that one seemed. (at least 25) And Evie, too bad Rachel wasn't in this one. She is the charm of Mummy movies, how did Jonathan get a sister like that? Rachel weaves a spell that entrances from beginning to end. Her presence was truly missed. If they make another, Rachel better be in it.

Okay I thought this movie was going to be great like the rest. I mean the trailer looked good with Jet Li and stuff. So I bought it and I was very dissapointed The acting was bad, the corny jokes was bad, the story was ok. And what happened to the awesome fight scenes?? They killed the emperor in 30 seconds. I thought they would of done some good stuff since Jet Li is in there. And Jet Li is an awesome actor I just feel bad for him that he had to be in such a bad movie. I mean the other 2 Mummy movies were super! I just don't know what happened to this one. And that son of his was annoying..with his cocky attitude. They should of had someone else. And then they replaced Evie?? They failed right there. NEVER replace one of the main characters like that. Then it just feels like your not watching the same movie.

I agree with the first poster, how could they not use Rachel Weisz? it was a distraction to see the other woman. And the guy wbo played the son was an ass, he was so annoying! He was trying too hard to be like Rick, who is also an ass but he is a likeable ass, lol. Take away those two things and the movie was grand. I like the mummy movies so I cannot really give it a bad review except for those two point above. It was a great idea to take it to Asia and get a bit of that culture into the series.

I can't believe they cast someone else as Evie; I am never going to watch this movie, no matter how good the reviews are. Rachel Weisz will always be Evie. As far as I am concerned there is no third movie.

TWO STARS!! Why? I saw all 3 and the 3rd install was a bit of a disappointment. FIRST, without the querky and beautiful Rachel the couple was so DRY. She & Brendan lacked the chemistry & the comedic timing that brendand&rachel had. And why age the son so many years?Their little son from the Mummy 2 was more interesting than this grown up version! The adventures were a bit exaggerated. The first 2 moviews had awesome action and a plausible storyline. The chinese mummy was a good start but the rest of the story kinda dragged& seemed forced and choppy. But I still liked it well enough but couldve waited for the dvd release. :(

I agree with ashley, I thought it was great!!! I have never seen the other movies though. So I can't judge it against the first 2. But I thought it was better then the indiana Jones movies.
