Although it is supposed to center around Mary, like most movies/shows concerning this topic, the plot focused on Anne. Most of the basic points of the plot were changed and the timeline was completely off.

Scarlett and Natalie though equally talented as actors...were miscast. If one had read the novel, it was quite clear after ten minutes that Natalie should have played Mary...and Scarlett- Anne. Once you get past that, it's rather enjoyable. The sets are magnificent. The scenes acted, if not directed, well.

sad tale poorly toldI went to the first screening, hopeful and was very disappointed. Cryptic and disjointed.

Misrated and completely deceived. I saw this movie with my three friends. We thought it would be totally different. Please. Think before you watch.

I was soooo looking forward to this movie. I went to the first showing! It's always difficult for a movie to live up to a well written novel, and as I suspected, the movie a disappointment. Perhaps Phillipa Gregory should have written the screen play. The scenes and actors were beautiful. The role of the King was outstanding. I think if someone had not read the book, the movie would be enjoyable ~ but there is a lot of information in the 155 min. movie.
