The Pardon (2008) Synopsis & Summary
Synopsis
Based on the true story of Toni Jo Henry, the first and only woman in Louisiana to be executed by the state, director Tom Anton and co-screenwriter Sandi Russell's film follows the sensationalistic case in which 24-year-old Toni Jo Henry is convicted of murdering a man on Valentine's Day, 1940, a fact that, along with her tremendous beauty, makes her an instant celebrity and figure of infamy when she is condemned to death. As she accepts the spiritual guidance of a priest and attempts to make peace with her grim fate, Henry's story turns from tragic to inspirational in nature. - Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
