I would have given it 5 stars if not for the intense violence of the scourging ..seemed to last forever..was the longest 15 minutes I have EVER spent...had to look away several times. The only film that has left me speechless...as well as the entire theatre, before, during and AFTER. Thought about it for days and went to church every Sunday for a year. Never will look at a crucifix in the same way again. If you are not a believer before you see it, you will mostly likely be when its over. Very profound movie, but not for the faint-at-heart or squeamish....
