It's hard to feel pity for Jews when they were underdogs, now that Israel is doing the same thing to the Palestinians right now. The movie was well made, but the ending was really botched.

Absolutely incredible picture! Sydney Pollack would be stunned with the result of such incredible acting, writing, cinematography, etc. The Reader is a shockingly beautiful piece of cinema and is hands down the best film of the year!

This movie was a beautiful love story but heartbreaking--the acting was superb and both Winslet and Fiennes were tremendous~~a definite Oscar winner for Winslet!!!

Unbelievable performance by Kate Winslet. Deserved the Golden Globe and got it. Next up, the Oscar for Kate. She's incredible in this film. I think her best performance ever.

The reader is one of the best movie that I saw for years. This is a love story, puppy love, that affected the life of a youngster and the rest of his life. This is not uncommon, but the twist is the personal history of the woman involved. I highly recommend the movie and Kate Winslet should be nominated for an Oscar

This movie is very good. I also saw Defiance, another WWII movie and this is definitely better in terms of story and character development. Usually, I'm looking at my watch about halfway through but not this time. There's a lot of sex in the beginning and then the story gets serious. The female character is never sorry for what she has done and the male lead can only owe up to what he did in the end. It's a very well told story and I hate most pictures!

I sat watching this film in suprize as it was well done with many eye opening events. It make one think what would you do if this was your life in the 1940's

I found this movie very absorbing and interesting. It is definitely for a mature audience only. You have to pay close attention to the dates and time in order to get the most out of the story. Superb acting by Kate, although somewhat disappointed that her looks have changed quite a bit since Titanic.
