If you love blood and gore and horror, you will like this. It's more disgusting than scary, but it does delivery some truly horrendous images. The acting and the set is good. I have read the book, and frankly (slight spoiler here) the fact that they changed the ending is typical of Hollywood. The real heroes of this film are those people who are trying to stop the horror, and that's why the book worked so well. I will stop now before I give it away. For me, talking and singing plants worked better in "Little Shop of Horrors." Oops, I think I just did, sort of. There isn't much tension here, really, just blood and gore. Why didn't the natives just contact civilization and have them nuke the thing out of existence is what I want to know. At least now I know what to do with a hot frying pan on a camping trip instead of cookin up a batch of bacon!

I saw this movie last night, at 9:45pm, an ideal time to see a "scary movie" and I left wondering what else I could have done with my $8.50. This movie was anything but scary and about as predictable as they come. It was filled with gore, but the scary aspect of the movie was nowhere to be seen. What seemed to be evil chronic plants and poor acting are among what you can expect to see if you choose(and I do not recomment it) to see this movie.

A bunch of actors protraying the stereotypical dopey americans take a hike in the Yucatan jungle. One girl is in flip flops? Yea its that stupid! Blood and gore for the sake of blood and gore...lets watch as they hack off a guys legs because the plants got him...when the girl started fileing her leg while we watched to get the plants out...I got out! The most stupid movie ever! No depth just stupid kids being eaten bu plants and carving each other up. This kind of movie makes a person think some sort of censorship is a good thing! The movie is a total waste. It serves no purpose. I shoulda known there was a prob when the movie started and I was one of seven people in the theater. Stay away and don't go because I say stay away. This is just a waste of your hard earned money!

The movie was a bit predictable, however it wasn't all that horrible. It's not something you're going to get a great thrill out of. It's basically about how sick and twisted humans get when they are trying with everything they have to stay alive. Very bloody, they show everything.

This movie is a complete waste of time unless you just love to see gore. I have a pretty strong stomach for gory seens but this one made me look away a few times. As far as the plot goes it sucked. You new the outcome of the movie 30 minutes in and I was ready to leave at that point. Don't waste 90 minutes of life on this one. You have been warned.

I think that watching your fingernails grow is more exciting than this movie. I would not recommend this movie to anybody unless they want to see a topless girl for 2 seconds. Even if the story good, there was a scene in the movie when she looked like she was on cocaine and was trying to cut her skin off. Besides the fact that this movie is worth -$7.00, boring, uneventful, made no sense, gory, stupid, horrible screenplay(the guy should stick to writing), 2 second toplessness, and way too predictable, I give this movie a 4.2.P.S. If you don't feel like reading all that, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE, unless you're trying to find new way to throw your money away other than tossing it in a bonfire.

The movie starts off a little scary and interesting but goes downhill from there. Unlike some other reviews say, the story (at least the sci-fi part) was unbelievable and predictable. Occasionally in the short time of the movie something peaks your interest, but other then that it is just gory and unexciting. Gore with entertaining is good, gore with bore is bad. Go see it if your bored and want to see some hot chick (the blonde) with her top off.

Very neat concept, completely unlike what I'd expected. The story was believable, in the horror movie sense. The predatory nature of threat was an intelligent concept, a not too far fetched expansion of what earth's existing plants can do. The idea of the actors being kept where they were (in the ruins) was valid and the behavior of the actors was very believable--not genius, not stupid, just dealing with a really crappy situation that was bad enough to make suicide palatable. For those who believe any "horror" movie requires visual shocks, monsters, yada yada to be good, this movie may be beyond their intellect. But for a good, basic thriller where one can empathize with the cast, go see this movie! Oh, BTW, Jenna Malone (the blonde) is HOT!
