Plot & Details

Los Angeles-based artists Shag is the subject of this documentary from filmmaker Mark Chervinski. His colorful, quirky paintings a playful nod to a bygone era, Shag offers a glimpse into a time when the martinis were perpetually chilled, and mod style was all the rage. But there's more to Shag's artwork than just simple nostalgia, and the longer one looks at his paintings the more surreal they seem to grow. In the past anyone could afford to own an original Shag, but due to growing demand his works now command exorbitant prices. Everybody wants an original Shag, but only the wealthy can afford one. So stroll on over to the wet bar, pour yourself a stiff drink, and sit back while you get to know one of the great icons of the Lowbrow art movement.
