Plot Summary
Neurotic Wally Mars (Jason Bateman) has one bright spot in his life: his friendship with Kassie (Jennifer Aniston). When Kassie announces her intention to become pregnant using a sperm donor, Wally thinks he will be the lucky guy, but Kassie has someone else in mind. While drunk at Kassie's insemination party, Wally substitutes his sperm for the donor's, then passes out, remembering nothing. Seven years later, Wally meets Kassie's son, who seems oddly familiar to him.

The movie's flaw is impossible to ignore, turning on the most tired of romantic comedy conventions: Someone knows something, and all that person has to do is say it, and the movie is over and everything's great. show more

This is a romantic comedy, not a sci-fi adventure tale. But the actions, choices and general behavior of the characters are oddly removed from what goes in the real world. show more

I saw the movie in the theatre first. I have watched the DVD too many times to count. I never tire of the wonderful expressive face on Jason Bateman. That is what I call acting. Hope he will be cast in more movies like The Switch.

Comedy? I don't think you will find any laughs in this one. The little boy was the only one who delivered any value for this flick.

I was unexpectly pleased with this movie. Not usually a fan of rom-com-chick flicks, but this one was clever, and well written, and the acting was top rate (Maybe Goldblum's character was a little over done). The little boy is adorable. As for the "crude humor" factor, the movie artfully tap danced around the edges of today's standard for crude. Well done! Worth watching.
