  • The Trip is probably too long, but I have to say "probably" because I would have been happy with an additional half-hour of Steve and Rob doing more impressions. show more

  • It's a relentless and relentlessly funny game of one-upmanship as the two men, playing somewhat exaggerated versions of themselves, roam the hills and dales, posh inns and poetic ruins of England's Lake District. show more

  • The project suffers badly from being largely improvised as the pair fall back on familiar impressions and old jokes. Lazy and indulgent, it smacks of being what the British call a "jolly," that is a freebie with no obligation to turn in work afterward. show more

I laughed out loud during this movie many times. Did I find the humor to get a little repetitive? Yes. But all in all, I enjoyed this movie about two guys on a gourmet food trip through the Lakes District of England. It\'s not earth shattering or provocative. But it is an enjoyable night at the movies.

After reading so many positive reviews about this movie, I thought *************** like a great way to spend a couple of hours escaping the summer heat. I was expecting a witty, funny film, and instead, found myself bored to the point of closing my eyes. While my eyes were closed, I started thinking about all of the things that I could have been doing instead of watching this awful movie....After an hour of hoping that it would get better, I cut my losses and walked out. For a buddy/road movie, Sideways still can\'t be beat. For a wity adult movie this summer, Midnight in Paris takes the cake. As for The Trip, don\'t take it.

This movie was excellent. I recently saw the BBC 5-part series and watched it twice because it was absolutely hysterical. I couldn\'t get enough of this series and saw the movie, just to see if there were any differences. There were a few, the movie had a few extras (dream sequences, Steve slutting it up) that were pretty funny. Steve Coogan is at his personal best and his almost constant impatience with / intolerance of Rob Brydon is simiultaneously painful and an absolute riot. Rob Brydon is great, as usual, and has been a favorite of mine since Gavin & Stacey. They are both funny on their own, but, together, they are magic.
