Really well done horror movie. Scary as hell without being overly cheesy. Gets pretty intense at the end; I can't remember the last time a horror movie moved me to tears (has that ever happened?). It's good. Definitely watch it in the dark.

While watching this movie you cant help but think you have seen this movie before. Thats because you have. The Warrens are a long know ghost pimps that include the Ammityville hoax . They been cooking up Hollywood scripts for years. This is another scam of theres. Save your money.

The net result is an entertainingly frightening film that keeps the audience in a state of alarmed, but eager, anticipation. Full Review

Though The Conjuring claims to be based on a true story, in truth it's based on every horror film that's come before it. Full Review

The pervasive aura of creepiness more than compensates for the low body count and inventive use of sharp instrumentation. Full Review

The big difference is that "The Exorcist" took the nation by storm with fresh ideas and brilliant filmmaking. The Conjuring conjures with amped-up echoes of old ideas, and represents a bet that they still retain their creepy appeal for today's audience. Full Review
