I find it fascinating that a reviewer thought the parents who thought it was too scary.....should"get a life"!I am Granny! I took my two grandchildren.9 and 5..and I WAS REALLY SCARED!! I definitely have a life! My grandson on my right......said......."don't cry; Granny..it won't die.....Mommy (my daughter) said it has a happy ending!"My grandaughter (9) on the other side was crying.......(as I was).I loved the movie......I rate it 5 stars......I would just pass the suggestion.....tell your young children....."there are really scary parts.....but it has a happy ending." My daughter is so very smart!Penelope

I truly enjoyed watching this film today. I am so glad I didn't skip it and not see it. I recommend it for children and adults of all ages. No violence or sex scenes.The actors were just great along with terrific Scottish scenery. The story is old but with the new technology and current archealogical finds, it seemed very real.I can't wait for the DVD release to buy it!

I almost missed this movie because I watched Ebert and Roeper who are just full of CRAP!!! This is a good movie for adults and children. It has a cute storyline. It's entertaining the whole way through. There are some funny parts and some tear jerking parts. It's just a really good movie. It is totally worth the time and money to see it. I thought it would be hokey, but they made it believable and fun to watch. My 2 kids ages 8 and 13 loved this movie. So don't listen to critics. Go and see this movie and enjoy yourself!

I took my two kids to see this movie and they loved it and my boyfriend and I hated it. We thought it was boring. The kids liked it though so that was a good thing. (A 7 year old boy and a 10 year old girl)

this movie was very deep and is a coming of age movies it is beatutyful and is a very heart touching movie in m opinon it should win a oscare for best picture

I took my 9 year old twins to see this movie and they really enjoyed it, as did I. I do not understand the critisism. I chose to focus on the lovely relationship the boy had with the water horse.

YES IT WAS A LITTLE DARK AND INVOLVED SHOOTING, BUT IT WAS BASED IN A WAR TIME SETTING. NOT VIOLENT AT ALL. MY DAUGHTER LOVED IT AND SHE GOT THE POINT OF THE MOVIE. IT WAS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BOY AND THE ANIMAL. I DON;T UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEONE FEELS NO CHILD UNDER 12 SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE. WHY? WE LOVED IT. IT WAS ACTUALLY THE FIRST MOVIE MY DAUGHTER SAT THROUGH AND DIDN'T ASK IS IT OVER YET.

I was reluctant to see this movie due to some of the reviews posted on this site, but was pleasantly surprised at this very good film. Visually stunning landscapes, exceptional special effects create a realistic water horse and acting is excellent.
