Plot Summary
The Weavers, one of the most important folk groups of the 20th century, are the subject of this documentary by Jim Brown. Composed of Pete Seeger, Lee Hays, Fred Hellerman and Ronnie Gilbert, the Weavers sang folk songs in the political tradition, and their social justice stances eventually brought them the attention of the U.S. government. They were blacklisted for several years, starting in 1952. This film reunites the Weavers in 1981 for a final show at Carnegie Hall.
