I loved this film. Mickey was great in ******** a real story of what happens in ordinary life and in a persons career. I found it quite sad also.

Disappointiing! What in the world were you expecting. UNREAL and great acting and movie. I guess "Milk" did it for some people!!??

I've always loved Mikey Rourke's work, so I'm not shocked at his great acting. During his speech at the Spirit Awards I heard him say that he had asked Sta. Monica Police for a bed and two pillows... I'd gladly give him room and board as a prize to his great acting. almaabrego5@aol.com.

Mickey Rourke is outstanding in this movie. The acting is well deserving of the best actor Oscar. That's the good news is.... But don't see this movie if you're not in the mood for some stark and drepressing reality. If you like that kind of storyline, this movie does a fantastic job of delivering it.

I've been in love with Mickey ever since "9 1/2 Weeks" so don't believe anything I write. WOW! great performance. Don't care if he looks like he's been rode hard & put away wet. His body is amazing! Such a sad character, with all his eggs in one basket. It's the only thing he knows. Pushed everyone away that means anything. I can SO relate, because he is ME. Only difference is...I got out. Thanks EST.

If you like the site of blood and booty being shed for a few pieces of silver, a bit of fame, glory, and the final leap this is the movie for you. Do not go expecting to be entertained or to enjoy. For me, this film is too violent in its desire to send out it's message, but yet the message is worth the price of our folly. For the rush of ego some are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. In our charming roaring rollicking youths we soar on the adulation of our admiring suitors who are willing to pay to see, to touch, to escape. As our beauty withers the price we pay becomes to dear to continue unless we can find a better way. I give kudos to both actors willing to expose so much of themselves. I just wish the director and writer could have found a way to make the movie less violent and depressing and still get the anti-wrestling, anti-exotic dancer, anti-ego message accross.

I was disappointed by this movie. The characters lacked development and I was left not caring about anyone in the film.There are a lot of better movies to be seen. This was like a made for TV flick.

I really wanted to see The Wrestler, but you really can't see it when no theatre within a 50 mile radius is playing it! It's supposed to be an Oscar contender for God's sake! It would be nice to see a good movie instead of most of the garbage that's in the theatres right now. But what do I know.
