Wow--I could not say anything bad about this film. Mickey Rourke is as convincing as an actor can be, and the story wields it's simplicity with tremendous power. My favorite movie in a while....

A lot of dept to this film. I could relate to an aging professional and the hardache of life. Very good story.

This was truly a great movie. If you liked Million Dollar baby you will love this film. Great story and acting performance especially Mickey Rourke.

I thought this movie was top notch. It was very realistic in a portrayal of what happens to a professional wrestler when he can't be a wrestler anymore. I didn't think anyone could beat out Sean Penn's performance in "Milk", but Mickey Rourke does just that. His emotions are very heartfelt and real. Marisa Tomei was amazing! Go see this movie. It's excellent!!

Mickey Rourke is utterly devastating. I was so moved I couldn't leave the theatre for 10 min. after the credits rolled, I was so emotionally invested and thankful to see acting of that caliber. He is better than the movie & the movie is great!

Great movie! Finally Hollywood put out something worth watching instead of the usual Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise garbage. The movie is realistic, well acted and has an awesome script. I can't get it out of my mind. You really care about and have compassion for the characters. I thought the ending was perfect. I was balling my eyes out. Can't wait to see it again.

TO MovieGoer070: Exactly in what part of "The Pledge" does Mickey Rourke make a cameo? Methinks you may have gotten confused about the part played by Benicio del Toro. Early in the film, with long, straggly hair and a crazed look in his eyes, del Toro's character is hauled in as a suspect in the slaying of a young girl. Jack Nicholson's character is fairly certain they've got the wrong guy, but the guy wigs out and offs himself before Nicholson can make his case. If Mickey Rourke IS in this film... he's really, really well-disguised.

Authentic performances. So believeable it almost seemed like a documentary.

I love Mickey Rourke and always have but this movie was awful, completely depressing and miserable. He does a great acting job but the story line was hideous and I think he's played this part before. Does anyone remember "Homeboy"?
