Horrible!!! I think someone other than Carter was writing the early episodes as the show went downhill dramatically after the first movie (which was brilliant). 1999 and on including the Agent Doggett episodes were so far fetched and stupid as to be an insult to X-files fans. What happened after the first movie? I think the brains of the Xfiles must have left or Mr. Carter came down with Alzheimers. This movie was deplorable in every possible way. This would have been a terrible episode in the early years and one we would have wished to forget. If you can't get back the magic then just hang it up. You have ruined the X-Files legacy with this crap much like great boxers do who hang on too long.. If you produce another movie just put it on Sci-Fi as this crap was theft of our money!

I enjoyed it. It was a nice psychological thriller with a bit of romance on the side.

Loved it and will gladly watch it again and again!!! Us diehard fans get it and a lot of nonfans get it. It's just those who are kinda jerky who don't get it and have to write negative about everything. The movie has great suspense and some brief moments of romance. Go see it and be the judge for yourself.

This movie is terrific, but not in any conventional sense. It's a throwback to when CGI didn't rule at the box office, to be certain, but it's also a well-told thriller/mystery. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are in top form - It's amazing how much road the characters have traveled together, and seein them again is wonderful. Billy Connolly is also quite good - his portrayal of Father Joe is delicately done, and very touching to watch. I really think that both fans and those not familiar with the series will enjoy this film and I recommend it highly.

Any legitamate X-File fan would love this movie. The Chemistry between Skully and Mulder is as good as it gets.To the fools that want to see special affects go see Pirates of the Caribbean,Part 5. Two things, could have used a little more of Mulders witty quips and the two Virginian states have not seen that much snow in the last 100 years.(That wasn't Canada was it? Duh!)

The title of this movie should have been “The X-Files: I Want to Believe That They Made a Better Movie.” I’m a big fan of the X-Files and I’ve been waiting all year since January for the new X-Files movie to finally come out on Friday, January 25th. I got a chance to see it Tuesday night with some friends and it wasn’t even worth the bargain ticket price of $5.75 that I paid to see it. I’ll be quite honest: the movie sucked! It was actually boring. It wasn’t even a good X-Files story. It was a low-budget film with no special effects. The only thing paranormal in it was that an old, former sex-offending Catholic priest dying of lung cancer was slightly clairvoyant. The only good thing about the movie is that Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are in it, although they seem out of place in such a bad movie. Now I knew the movie wasn’t going to be about UFO’s or black oil, but it would have been much better if it had been about the impending alien colonization that, according to the final episode “The Truth,” is set to begin in 4 years time on December 22nd, 2012. I am truly disappointed and hope the next X-Files movie (if there is one) is much better, although I doubt now there will be another one because this movie was so god-awful. If you want to see a good X-Files movie, buy or rent the previous movie, The X-Files: Fight the Future.
