The movie was directed by Helen Hunt. Why she kept herself as the main character star in this movie is beyond me. Helen Hunt looks too thin, masked any new creative interpretation of this main character while maintaining Helen Hunt's usual interpretation and style of acting. Bette Midler was refreshing as was Colin Firth. The story line was interesting but ruined by Helen Hunt's presence. Hang up the acting shoes, Helen.

This could have been a very nice story line. However, the unnecessary use of the F-word made this movie extremely uncomfortable for me. The backseat seen also took away from the warm fuzzy feeling of Helen Hunt and Colin Firth's relationship. I have no desire to ever see it again.

Am I the only one that noticed the microphone throughout the entire movie. What was that about? How do u not see that in editing?

This was one of the worst films I've seen to date. The acting was terrible, mediocre at best. There was no depth to the characters, nor to the relationships between the characters. Bette Midler brought some light to the screen but not enough to carry the film. The directing is stiff and the editing choppy. How this film has 4 stars is beyond comprehension.

I was so dissapointed in this movie. I felt the acting was ok but the writing was poor and the dialogue was not believable.Even seemed akward at times. There were some smart moments that Helen Hunt tried to convey to the audience that I got but it didn't flow very well.It wasn't funny and I felt embarrassed for Bette Midler's character. I realize HH wanted to show realism in her characters but I couldn't get passed Bette Midlers puffy cosmetically enhanced cheeks and Helen Hunts frown lines. . I felt myself wondering when it would end. The actors are all great. I just wish they were in another movie so I could fully enjoy their talents.

the show was good, but the actors were too close up, needed more makeup, you could see every line on face, it was too dark, and a little blurry... the actors did terric acting, but it was more of a second rate movie.. bet midler looked cute, but the clothing on the other actors were ridiculous... makes the picture seem like you had a very low budget...they didn't give too much imagination to the backgroud scenery, if they did i think the picture would have been a lot more interesting

I was in a good mood when I went to this movie and had to walk out in the middle of it. If you are in love or happy, DON'T SEE IT! I should have asked for my money back.

This was a great movie. If someone went through what Helen Hunt's character did, I doubt they would look that sunny. This was a good look at real life, and it gave a positive outlook at the end. Sometimes life is not positive. The acting was terrific. The script was very good. The directing great.

Helen Hunt was a little too thin and a little too wan. On the other hand, both the story and the acting were quite good. A touch of sadness, a dash of abandonment with a dialogue that was sometimes melancholic sometimes clever but always enlightening. It should be seen!!
