This movie could have been greatly improved by cutting 40 minutes of the meanest moments of the hero. I thought Daniel Day-Lewis did a great job of acting, but SOMEONE should have realized the pace was sloooooow and that many scenes made the same point over and over and over.

This is a really good movie. The film with Daniel Day Lewis in it gave me so much respect for this actor. He really played the character so much between love and hate, and He delivered a performance that you could always talk about with anyone who has seen this movie. Day-Lewis simply was outstanding, no wonder he won the Oscar for Best Actor, He was good and he really delivered with a lot of defining high qualities in an actor that can bring a lot to the table. I loved the movie, and Day-Lewis. So happy he won such praises for his work in the film.

this is the worst movie i have ever spent 3.50 to rent, i have seen grass grow look more exiting, i have seen dead dogs with better acting than this movie, i have seen a million better things that this movie, this is the worst movie you will ever waste 2 hours and 30 minutes of your life watching, thank you for wasting my life.

I watched this on my huge screen with surround sound at my home with my entire family for $3.00 plus the cost of Orville Renderbacher popcorn, about a dollars worth. This is how I am watching many movies now, on DVD, it's better! No theater patron nonsense.Anyway, the movie is great. One of the best movies I have seen in years. I love the end, -he settles with every person he had to carry along the way. Awesome!I am debating to wait for Ironman to come out on DVD, or should I go see it at the theater, -my house is so much better.

I guess whether you'll like this movie or not depends entirely on your taste of genre and what you enjoy in a film. This particular film is my new favorite for a few reasons. I have to admire the story for what it reveals in Daniel's character. Does he seek hapiness, wealth, success? Or is he realizing that its just unatainable no matter how "successful" his oil industry becomes? I really loved how the relationship between Daniel and his son was portrayed here. It reminded me of how I am with my father in a way, hard to communicate and difficult to live with one another when our views of the world are really different. I guess I enjoyed this movie for its cinematography and how I related with its themes more than others....Great film

We, each of us, have a predetermined number of heartbeats available to us and to waste any of them on this moody, boring, dragged out assemblage of lengthy pauses, idiotic dialogue and baleful stares populating a moronic storyline is to yearn for someone to scream "DON'T".I'm ashamed that I was duped into spending irretrievable assets assuming that this so called story was going somewhere. In hindssight it was-into the realm of worst movies ever made.

This is one of the most senseless movies I have seen in a long time. No redeeming qualities. Best actor? Please! Most melodramatic, over the top actor, maybe. Also, what's with the cheap, cheesy cardboard sleeve packaging Paramount used to market this movie? Best Buy stock clerk told me it was "Eco-friendly", whatever that means. More like profit-friendly! I bet they saved twenty cents apiece. You can save even more! Don't buy this movie! It was TERRIBLE!
