A greater argument for music education in our secondary school curriculum can't be made than Mark Landsman's doc about a Texas high school funk band that tore up the music scene from 1968 to 1977. show more
One serious omission in the film - identifying what these seemingly prosperous alumni of the band do for a living and did with their lives. show more
Forcefully traditional and sentimental, Thunder Soul benefits most from the cinematic turn of the actual events it documents, which allowed the beloved teacher's life to end on a perfectly bittersweet note. show more
Thunder Soul was a awesome movie. I can\'t wait for It to come out on DVD i am going to show it to everyone. I have already been tell my family an friends to watch out for it. I believe all school that have band need to see it. also anybody that is in Education need to see it as well so they will understand why band and music is just important as reading and Math because if we could get our student to enjoy this they would be able to read and do math., because all you do is read and count. make band and music Just important too in our schools!
What an inspiring and positive movie to see. A superb documentary to recap how it should be today in the public schools, to teach one you reach one.
