This is the vital city that inspired Fellini – alive and lived in. When an actor falters or a joke falls flat, Roma stays fresh and dynamic. You can't take your eyes off it. show more

Yet here's what's strange: As awful as To Rome With Love is - and the awfulness is unmistakable - it is, as an experience, not unpleasant. You will probably see several better movies this year that you will enjoy less. It's a mess, but it's Rome. It's a mess, but it's Woody Allen. show more

It's neither one of Allen's best, nor among his worst. It is also not likely to win audiences over with the passion that "Midnight in Paris" did. show more

For better or worse, Woody Allen turns out a movie every year. Last year's "Midnight in Paris" was better than better; that is to say, sublime. To Rome With Love is worse than worse, as inert as its predecessor was inspired. show more

Oh so slight and forgettable. show more

Much of the young cast - especially a miscast Page - make the oft-repeated mistake of saying Allen's dialogue as he might say them; the result is a lot of hyperarticulation, stammering and gesturing. show more

Allen the writer-director has gone tone-deaf this time around, somehow not realizing that the nonstop prattling of the less-than-scintillating characters almost never rings true. show more

To Rome with Love - rangy, vaguely ridiculous and trepidatiously optimistic - is Allen's film for tomorrow. show more

To Rome With Love isn't great Woody Allen. Here is a man who has made a feature every year since 1969, give or take a few, and if they cannot all be great Woody, it's churlish to complain if they're only good Woody. show more

In To Rome With Love, Allen approaches the leitmotif in a strange, oblique and interesting way. I fear, though, that the Italian entry in his "Let's Go: Grab Some Euro-Film Subsidies" period will be remembered as being forgettable. show more

I thought this was better than some of the critics suggested. Sure, it was a trifle - but it was still a Woody Allen trifle, with a nice deep cast in these overlapping fantasies set, of course in Rome. MIDNIGHT IN PARIS was better - but it was linear story that was meant to be more substantial - which doesn\'t make this less fun.

Haven\'t seen it, but after seeing just the trailer, I say, \"What a WASTE of A-list talent on this scummy film about amoral people made to appear smart and sophisticated.\" Arrividerci, Woody, to your film that I won\'t waste my time or hard-earned Euros on.

If you like Woody Allen and his humor you will love this movie. The scenes of Rome are amazing and the music--and the music!! The plot is very funny also. Not quite as good as Midnight in Paris, but rib tickling non the less.

A very boring and silly movie. Plot was ridiculous - only the views of Rome saved it from being a disaster. Don\'t waste your time or your money on it.

The views of Rome are beautiful and would whet anyone\'s appetite for a visit. Unfortunately, Woody should have done a travelogue. The plots were rehases of old ones...he even stole from Fellini (\"Lo Sceco Bianco\") as well as from his own work (\"Play it Again Sam\"). Disappointing from one of the most clever and humorous screenwriters of all times. Three stars for La Citta` Eterna!
