Just came back from seeing "Traitor" and LOVED it! Very cool spy thriller with a thumping sound track and deliberate fast-pace. Liked that they filmed at in REAL international locations, too. Good story, kept my interest, very "current" topic, excellent acting by everyone in the film, and gee, a film for ...ADULTS??? gosh, what a "novel concept" LOL ...It's gonna sound redundant but..what the heck..5 stars! Good stuff

Perhaps the last reviewer was "delving" into her popcorn too much because "clearly" thats where her attention was completely during this movie! By the way? The film is GREAT! It does NOT insult ANYONE's intelligence, morality OR religious (or lack of religious) affiliation...in fact, this is the first film that actually "questions" the tactics of old-school politics in the Western world "toward" the Muslim faith. And its through Don Cheadle's portrayal of Samir (who by the way is a Sudanese-American Muslim in the film) who stuggles between his faith, his duty to his country, doing whats right and whats wrong (and what is that by the way, which is constantly challenged in this film)...Guy Pearce's character is definitely NOT standard G-Man "issue" in this movie..he is clearly the antithesis of whats "the norm" currently. His intelligent portrayal of a man who is learned in Arabic studies and Muslim culture yet who still IS learning the differences between the standard Western Ways versus their ways, comes across quite clearly and poignantly. I agree more with some of the other reviewers here who I think got it right when they said that, in "Traitor", there are no "clear cut good verses bad guys anymore"...This story was well-written, extremely intelligent (for those of us with our heads OUT of our popcorn!), well-acted..well..just see for yourself, I obviously enjoyed it!

As much as I love Don Cheadle, I was profoundly disappointed with this move. TRAITOR is a movie disguising itself as exposing and challenging religious ideology -- Islamic ideology specifically -- that has nothing to do with religious ideology. In the end, we get the same result that we would get on any major American news show analzying "terrorism," Islam, and religion. No new perceptions, no analysis of dictum, just one "savior" who sees everything the "right" way, which of course is the American way. There's a very strong component of "we" and "us" and "our" that always comes back to the U.S., and I found it insulting -- to Islam and to my intelligence. (By the way, I'm Roman Catholic.) Every character in the movie was a stereotype and so purposed to be only the thing they were supposed to be. Perhaps, therein, is the statement...??? But all of the predictability and all the preaching made me not want to delve much further, except to simply enjoy the action and my popcorn.

I thought this movie was great! Complex plot, intelligent, kept me interested all the way through until the end. Acting was outstanding by everyone involved. I think Don Cheadle is a first-rate actor and Guy Pearce is so underrated he is just incredible in anything I've seen him in, including "Traitor" now. The supporting cast was equally impressive. I can't believe this story idea came from Steve Martin..he should come up with more stories like this, they are brilliant really. I liked the quick pace of this film and how you got a more thought-provoking look into the Muslim religion. Also, in this movie, there are no clear cut "good guys verses bad guys"..and it doesnt insult your intelligence.. This is a story-driven, acting-driven film, not a Computer Generated Graphics movie, so if the latter is more your thing? Than go see Babylon A.D. or something probably...however, I saw that too? And "Traitor" is CLEARLY the better movie to see!

Don Cheadle is one of the most versatile actors I've seen in recent years. I loved the plot and storyline, which put a little seen perspective on the diversity of the Islamic religion and doesn't insult the viewers intelligence. The movie pointed out that not every Muslim is an extreme fanatic, set to destroy and kill innocent people. Well done Mr. Cheadle. Your production and acting ability will take you far. This is a definite must see movie. I can't wait for the DVD release.

VbbeeneI don't know why the 'critics' gave this movie mediocre reviews for such a dismal overall score. I thought the plot was credible, the acting superb and the pace intense. If someone was looking for a pyrotechnics film, then this isn't the film for you.The bombs that did go off where the intense moments of dialogue establishing trust among friends and known enemies. Don Cheadle was amazing as usual. In fact, everyone's performance...Guy Pearce, Neal McDonough, Said Taghmounai was exceptional. Go see for yourself and you be the judge. I can't wait for this to come out on DVD so that it can sit on the shelf next to THE WIRE, SLEEPER CELL--movies/series that go no respect from the general public.

An excellent on the edge of your seat spy thriller. This film doesn't rely on the usual special effects tactics to keep your interest and yet it moves around at such a quick pace from one International location to the next. Powerful subject matter..global terrorism, religion, morality, etc...handled superbly by all actors in the cast, but most especially its two leads, Cheadle and Pearce. Watching them when they are on screen together is such an incredible lesson in acting and really exciting to observe. This is probably one of the best written films I have seen so far this year, with one of the strongest ensemble casts. I hope everyone gets a chance to see this in theatres because I know I'm even considering seeing it for a second time.

This was a very exciting spy movie with a very good plot. Don Cheadle was excellent in his role as double agent. Too bad this movie didn't get more advertisement. I loved it and will see it again.
