While I fully support the appearance of a new Madea movie every six months, even Tyler Perry can't be bothered to take this setup seriously. show more

Madea is starting to look a little tired. show more

With Tyler Perry gradually segueing toward non-drag leading man status with "Good Deeds" and the upcoming James Patterson thriller "Alex Cross," his latest appearance as the sassy, wisdom-dispensing matriarch of the title in Madea's Witness Protection has an aura of fatigued reluctance to it, as does the film itself. show more

The film remains buoyed by the same open heart that makes Tyler Perry's best work so endearing. show more

Reviewing a Tyler Perry movie is a bit like reviewing the weather report. People who want to watch it are going to do so, regardless of what anyone says about it. And that's not even factoring in Charlie Sheen. show more

How much of this is actually funny is a question of taste, but even a confirmed Perry hater might get caught laughing once or twice. show more

The writer-director-star still hasn't learned to smoothly blend broad comedy and family-values sermonizing. show more

Perry's latest is crudely assembled and mostly emotionally unengaging. show more

The film is slapdash entertainment not meant to be further contemplated after leaving the theatre. show more

An agent of spiritual regeneration and showman, Perry's dramaturgy is as subtle as a Bible-thump, but until a logy last act that has Levy disguised as a faux-Frenchman, his instincts are on-target here. show more

i am a big tyler fan, but this movie did not cut it. it felt like they were reaching for jokes in this movie because of his notorious way of going off script. (check). it felt as though the film was rushed and pieced together. the earlier madea films were a bit more planned out, so some of the jokes were just off. (check). i know that tyler is under fire for not catering more towards the average white movie-goers, but i think this movie ******** touch. (check). some of the acting felt amature though there is a cast of professionals in this film. tyler, you will have to do better than this. (check). i am giving this less than an average rating by comparison to his earlier madea films. this film was just money to burn. (check). \"good deeds\" was a great film. with this madea film being so close after the release of \"good deeds\", it felt as though there was no focus on making this movie click. i was not feeling this moving at all.

The first madea movie was really good. Now he is chrning them out one after the other. Its a niche move (a big niche granted) Perry\'s biggest advantage is that there\'s nothing else to watch. There\'s nothing out there but a bunch of tired movies and sequels no one wants to watch.

Wow a lot of stars but a wasted opportunity to make this great. It looked like it was shot in 1-2 days with a lot of adlib. Now I do remember Tyler Perry saying he was also working on another movie at the sametime so I assume it had a lot to do with it. The movie he\'s working on is a action thriller. I seen the previews and it really looks good. Needsless to say this was a D movie to say the least. His honest effort just wasn\'t in this. It had it\'s moments but the closing credit\'s with Tyler Perry doing off the cuff adlibs which were funny to the bone was the best part of the movie. WAIT FOR DVD or HBO. I almost walked out of the movie. As a matter of fact a couple did walk out of the movie. As a matter of fact just leave this alone and wait for a redo. It needs it badly.

Kept me laughing all the way through. As with all Perry films, it ends up nicely, ******* the laughs throughout that get you. Leave the babies at home, though!

I love the way Tyler Perry takes a serious situation and makes it funny and does NOT over do it or anything...He puts just the right touch to bring awareness and also keeps you entertained. Way to go Tyler...2 thumbs up and may God continue to bless you as you continue to bless others!!!!!
