I was expecting more and it seemed to be a vehicle for cameos for Tyler;s characters that we know and love. I would have liked to have seen more about the Brown family and less about the Angela B's character's love life or lack thereof. There were a couple of funny scenes but the movie was very disjointed.and a little disappointing It could have been so much better

I do love Tylers Perrys work, but this movie was not a good one. I don't want to put him down as a writer/producer because he has really produced great plays and movies in the past. However, I think this was his worst work yet. I think I expected so much more. I have followed his work over the years, and it usually gets better everytime. Even though it wasn't a good movie I wouldn't just write him off. I think we all just want to see something different from him. I think we are tired of the whole mad black women, and loser black man story.

Tyler I love you and I have loved your movies and I have tried to support you in all your endeavors. However, this was the worst movie I think that I ever seen from you or anyone. The audience even made the experience worst because I believe each person thought this was made movie strictly for their viewing. Due to such a bad experience I will not see another one of your movies if I can help! Plus not all black women are in bad situations. Not all black women are baby mommas, struggling to find a man, or are angry because they can't seem to find a good man. At some point I hope your talent will grow, and I am sorry that so many of the black women you've either met or experienced are in these crazy situations. Some of us are just well educated, successful, and very happy women. And guess what many of us have never had to go through so much drama to find these places in our lives.

Let me start by saying genuinely I like Tyler Perry and what he started doing for the genre of Black Themed movies. However, at some point in time you have to show range as a director and producer, Spike Lee has done it (from School Daze to Inside Man). But Tyler has gone backwards on Meet the Browns. I'm live in Atlanta and have seen the play "Meet the Browns" and those actors and theme, DON'T TRANSLATE AT ALL ON THE SCREEN. Same deal for the actors (I love them spiritually and their heart) on the HOUSE of PAYNE. These just happen to be people he's comfortable with on a folksy level, however they showed no chemistry or timing on TV or the SCREEN. In the movie, Angela Bassett's character life is a complete mess (as usual), but she doesn't show any interest whatsoever in visiting her family in rural Georgia. Then all of a sudden the scene shows her and her 3 children (of course by different daddies) getting off a bus in Georgia. The scenes moved throughout the Movie with no real purpose of direction. The cast did not seem to have synergy amongst each other. Too many stereotypical "black-folk-talk-one-liners" to force a laugh. Sorry peeps who this may offend but many "well to do Black Folks" have walked out of the movie by half way. There's a forced attempt to introduce Madea's character as part of some sensational car chase that was just a blatant attempt to inject more off-color-gangsta-chitlin-senile-crazyold-hag JOKEs.And there was not one redeeming character of a Black Man to be found throughout the WHOLE movie. SAD SAD SAD.

Angela Bassett portrays a single mom, and she played this role well. However, the plot is not even funny; it's ridiculous and was a waste of almost two hours of my time. This movie gets less than one star from me.

I went to see Meet the Brown's on opening day, and it is just RIDICULOUS!! Leroy Brown is a fool! I enjoyed it immensely. It resonated with me, because I am a single Mom, and although my girls are grown up with children of their own I could really relate with the message of the movie. I have been in Brenda's shoes and they are some tight shoes to wear, but I made it through by the GRACE of GOD! To all the single mom's out there, it may seem like things are never gonna change, but I can only tell you to hang on in there and with the help of God it will get better.
