Awesome movie! My absolute favorite Christmas movie! Tyne Daly plays Jake's mom, an FBO Agent who brings home a girl he is assisgned to protect over the holidays - played by... another favorite - Jami Gertz. My two favorite actresses in the same movie - what a bonus! At first, Anne Cunningham (played by Tyne Daly) is leery of Brandi (Gertz) who is actually dressed sort of like a hooker with the actions to match, but as the movie progresses, especially after a few midnight 'confessions' by Brandi, Anne softens up to Brandi and can see the real, innocent and sweet girl behind the crazy hair and personality and after a shopping trip, Anne has Brandi conformed from that 'wild child' to a beautiful young woman who her son Jake falls in love with. Throughout the movie, Anne, although she is a "rich' woman who are usually stuffy, has such a heart a gold and Tyne Daly's sweet personality shines through her character. I'm not so good at this, but I guarantee that it is a movie that once you see it, you'll fall in love with Tyne Daly's sweet demeanor and personallity all over again! I adored her in Cagney & Lacey, and again though more so in Undercover Christmas! It is out of print, though shown on Lifetime every CHristmas season. I HAD to DVR it and transfer to a DVD to keep it. VERY hard to find but if you miss it on Lifetime's "Fa la la la Lifetime&********************* worth hunting down as I still am to have a copy free of commercials. GREAT movie!! A GEM worth looking for! God bless you Tyne Daly for excellent acting and excellent entertainment at Christmas and in all your work - though this one is my favorite! Full Review
