I just saw the movie. It was funny. The best part is when the dog says "squirrel".

@metvboy, the reviews for Up were not 50/50, they were about a 100 every one liked it. The people talking about death and lost were counting it as a plus because it dealt with those things. Loved this movie, one of the best of the year the best of the summer.

***LEGIT REVIEW*** So my almost 6 year old nephew wanted to see this movie, and I was VERY surprised that the reviews were 50/50 on this movie. I saw things like "very sad" and "deals with death/loss"...so obviously I was tentative to see this with him. glad we went !!! Yes, the old man's wife dies (of old age)...but to say this is a movie about death or loss, is like saying "Bambi", "The Lion King" or "Finding Nemo" are movies about death !! You'd miss the whole point of the great movies...if you trusted these reviews. The movie "UP" is about building friendships where it may seem unconventional to do so. The old man never had children...in the end, that is what he missed. The scout missed his father, *************...and phased his son out of his life. To a lesser extent the dog with the talking collar, missed having an owner that love him as a pet. Are there sad moments in the movie...sure. ******* watery eyes during a scene kind, that makes you think of someone that is/was important in your life. If all you want is mindless action for kids...take them to see "Monster vs. Aliens"...that will do the trick. If you want a memorable film about adventures, and finding friends where you least expect it..."UP" is the movbie for any age group. Well done once again Pixar !! :)

Brilliant. Sophisticated, yet simple and beautiful. One of my new favorite all time movies.
