Do not believe the reviews (or half the people posting here). They must have been paid to give their comments - or they have no kids. MY FAMILY WALKED OUT. This is no kids movie. The first 20 minutes is about a guy who finds out his wife is infertile, he gets old, his wife dies and then he is alone and lonely. Also it is not funny. At one point a pack of vicious dogs attack the man and his companions. Is this really a Disney movie? What were they thinking? Stick with adventure movies about kids. Stay away from depressing plots that are not funny. Do youself, and your family a favor - stay far away from this one. Talk to any parent who has actually see it - DO NOT RELY ON REVIEWS.

@metvboy, the reviews for Up were not 50/50, they were about a 100 every one liked it. The people talking about death and lost were counting it as a plus because it dealt with those things. Loved this movie, one of the best of the year the best of the summer.

I just saw the movie. It was funny. The best part is when the dog says "squirrel".

This movie was so much more than I expected. It was heartwarming and had lots of action. Definitely entertaining for people of all ages. It has 2 unlikely heroes, an elderly man and a frontier scout. Highly recommended.

In spite of what the big critics say, it's a dark, heavy storyline that drags until about midway, Russell and the dogs create some laughs, but there are too few of them. You keep watching balloons burst and the house catch on fire, but the house still flies. And it's hard to relate to the Mr. Peterson character -- it's just cranky old Ed Asner. Given all the hype, it was a big letdown.

we loved the movie even though there are some sad moments, I use plugged in for most movies great for families with children to review before seeing. I though the 3d part was disappointing, the cartoon before with the grasshopper antenna coming out at you was nice. But the movie itself had nothing in it for 3d.and the price you pay.
