After seeing "Downfall", which was an outstanding movie, it is hard to rate a "C" quality movie. Well, on second thought, maybe it is not. I give it a "D". Maybe it's just that I have stopped liking Tom Cruise... it's over for him...

Excellent historical movie; excellent supporting cast; excellent location filming, but Tom Cruise was totally miscast. This would have been a five star rating if there had been another lead that could act. This movie also tells you that not all the German military, etc. were supportive of Hitler's Nazi Germany. Again, it's a shame that Cruise was cast to portray von Stauffenberg, but I do recommend seeing this movie for the historical value and supportive cast.

I'm sure it's well done, but wouldn't it make more sense to make a movie that everyone doesn't already know the ENDING?!!! Isn't that what nobody wants to know before they get there? This was learned in History class and has been a documentary everywhere for years. What was the purpose then, except to get Tom Cruise his $20,000,000.00 per picture fee. Hey TOM, I don't go to movies that I already know what the ending is!!!

Tom Cruise is one-dimentional: intense. His was a shallow performance. He didn't ruin the movie, but anyone could have done as well or better. But the supporting cast was excellent, the cinematography, script, pace -- all really so exceptional you really didn't notice Cruise. It is a suspenseful movie, and a very interesting story. I reccomend it whole-heartedly!

What's with the lead star not being able to replicate a German accent for his German role? Tom Cruise was cast as Claus von Stauffenberg even though German politicians and the Stauffenberg family immediately objected to Cruise's casting in the film. Scientology, which Cruise adheres to and actively promotes, is considered a dangerous, totalitarian cult in Germany, which has strict laws of promotion of any such cults. Don't see this movie. Don't support Scientology and don't support Tom Cruise.

I had read the criticisms of this movie and went anyway. I thought it was very well done, full of passion and suspense (even though any student of history knew how it ends), and very moving. It stunned me how quiet the audience became at the ending of the movie. I have to admit, although I knew the story, I found myself crying at the end. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone.

Tom Cruise was the downfall of the film. He again was Tom Cruise, acting like Tom Cruise. And what was with no accents?

Wow , Tom Cruise thank you for making such an important film . I found it riveting . Excellent and entertaining from beginning to end . Not a slow moment in the picture . There should be an academy award catagory for " Best Historical Film " (of the year) and this one should win it . Lest we forget . The last 20 minutes of the film were about the most powerfully moving i've seen in 49 years. A must see for teenagers and adults .

A fantastic telling of a significant historical event; an event that could have saved millions and much of Germany if only these heroic men's efforts had been successful. TC did a great job as Von Stoffenberg. It is amazing how many people do not know that German Officers were against Hitler.
