Political leanings aside—this movie was slow with no real direction to the story. I actually considered walking out, but I kept hoping for some shred of a plot that would tie the multiple fragments of this film together. Some individual performances were good, but without a story to provide a framework for these performances the movie just fell flat. I suggest spending your money on something else.

The only person crazier than Mr. Stone's portrayal of W is Mr. Stone himself. His greatest future passed him may years ago and no matter what one may think of W, one fact remains constant; Stone has lost clear sight of the art of combining creative and artistic film making to his obsession with his politics. And unfortunately for Stone, no one really takes him seriously anymore anyway. Afterall, any coward can make fun of a politician.

The film was eh. No surprises. Basically, all players were two dimensional caricatures of Bush, Cheney, Rummey, Powell, etc., and "Laura" was unconvincing. Didn't tell us anything we didn't know. The Rove character was mousy. I did think Josh Brolin played Bush well. But, you could go see for yourself and make your own determination.

What other country in the world would allow such an inaccurate and disrespectful film to be produced about their leader WHILE he is still in office? The term BASED on a true story is a joke. This film was based on an outline of a true story and embellished by a very sick director to degrade not only George W Bush, but the Presidency of the United States. Regardless of political views, this was the WORST movie I have ever seen. I feel a deep sense of sadness, disloyalty, and embarassment for even going to see it.

Havent seen the film yet, but Im planning too since I'm a proud Democrat. I'm sure most of the dilogue in the movie is B.S. but most of the movie are actually facts. Bottom line if your a conservative republican your not going to see it, and say its garbage. And most left wing nuts jobs (like myself) are going to say the movie ruled. From what I saw from the trailer it looks kinda like a comedy, so thats what Im going in there to see.

What a piece of trash. Hmmm, a leftist film maker decides to make a movie about a President he hates and wants to pass it off as an objective piece of work. Surprise, surprise! The President comes off as a buffoon! I'm shocked!! "Based on a true story". Okay, President Bush's nickname is W. He is the President of the United States. His father was President and he had a mother and brother. He nearly choked to death on a pretzel (while many wished the pretzel had succeeded, that would have meant Chaney would have been President...there's a halloween thought for Bush haters!) Okay, end of the "true" part of "Based on a true story." I went to the movie knowing what I'd see, and I wasn't disappointed...it was a piece of trash. Bush may not be the greatest President we have ever had but he's certainly better than anything we've had since Gerald Ford. By the way, this is the worst economy since Jimmy Carter, not the Great Depression...until Obama gets elected.

The best Oliver Stone movie yet.. will leave you in a very sober mood. Great Portrayals and insightful acting. Makes you wonder how we ever decided to elect this man.. Can't wait for Jan 20th, 2009 to come. The 2.27 minute long movie will whiz past and it is well worth seeing..

Let me slap a little education on sleepy fantasy... An increase on taxes will do nothing but harm. Taxing the rich more will affect you! If your employer gets taxed, he will then have to cut money somewhere else... your pay check and or pay raise! A oil company gets there taxes raised, guess what.. HIGHER prices...Think it through. It will all fall down to us "the middle class" one way or another. Keep in mind, Bill Clinton was in office one month before he came out and raised taxes on everyone. This is exactly what will happen if Obama is elected! Learn the facts, think logically and make your decision, but stand behind your decision in the end.
