WALL-E is a truly heartwarming story that transcends age pigeonholing because it appeals to all levels. While children can get lost in the cutesy characters and the mild action scenes, adults are swept away by the somewhat sophisticated romantic plot that is masterfully spun. Of course, since it's PIXAR, it is a wholesome show that you can take anyone to see and still be greatly entertained. I've already seen the movie three times and will likely see it two additional times at our dollar theater before purchasing the DVD. Five stars, easily...you won't be disappointed no matter your maturity, but it will especially entertain if you've ever been love forlorn - AND who hasn't?

I saw WALLE when it first came out. I liked it. It wasn't that the Humans were lazy slobs. Its that they have been away from the earth for 700 years, and they were brought up on this space ship as having everything done for them. But they did not know that 700 years before, the original human had programmed the computer on the ship, that every now and then the ship will send out a probe to see if earth had life on it after the humans destroyed the plantet with polution. The movie is the humans winning their freedom again, and having at the end, to restart the human race on earth.

Creative, tame story of robot left alone to clean Earth after futurist society ruins the planet. Computer graphics are amazing, and the little robotic characters and future world are incredible and amusing. Now. That said, this movie is preachy and chock full of tree hugging left leaning gibberish. Perfect movie to brainwash the little tykes. The president in the movie is played by Fred Willard, who is a bumbling buffoon and utters, "we must stay the course." Sound familiar? The current day insinuation is obvious. Then the line, "red is out, the new color is blue". Also extremely odd was a bizarre shift in the middle of the film about all the humans being fat, lazy and clumsy, and only able to lay around on floating beds all day while talking to each other through computers. The gluttonous humans had polluted the planet into such oblivion they might never be able to get back to Earth! During all of this is an amusing side story of Wall-e trying for all his might to get his deprived computer chips on the likes of a hot sophisticated modern female robot. Bottom line, too much politicizing and preachiness under the guise of a candy-coated cutesy movie for the kids. Also, if you're a large size person this movie may really rub you the wrong way. I was disappointed that with the talent and sophistication of the animation, the enjoyment of the movie took a real back seat to the propaganda-like agenda of the film makers.

perfect animation, great story, it's cute no doubt about it, and not the 'funniest' or the 'wittiest' but an original story done in amazing animation with some deeper meaning. 5 stars.

The opening half of the movie was brilliant-- a lone robot on planet Earth after Earth's environment has been destroyed, little to no dialogue, his only companion an amazingly cute cockroach. The love/friendship themes between WALL-E and EVE are adorable, and the entire thing creates a sort of melancholy sentimentality that was very sweet and moving. Then we get into space, and the movie becomes downright insulting, going so far as to suggest that people with weight problems are all lazy slobs who do nothing all day long, and that people who use the internet don't communicate with the world around them. A few highlighted human characters are endearing-- I loved the captain of the space ship-- but overall, the movie just loses steam here. Who would have thought that an action/adventure story could be less interested than a bittersweet portrait of a postapocalyptic earth? We get both of them in this movie and the latter is stronger by far.

This movie was bit of a disappointment. A very slow pace and a bit boring.
