Creative, tame story of robot left alone to clean Earth after futurist society ruins the planet. Computer graphics are amazing, and the little robotic characters and future world are incredible and amusing. Now. That said, this movie is preachy and chock full of tree hugging left leaning gibberish. Perfect movie to brainwash the little tykes. The president in the movie is played by Fred Willard, who is a bumbling buffoon and utters, "we must stay the course." Sound familiar? The current day insinuation is obvious. Then the line, "red is out, the new color is blue". Also extremely odd was a bizarre shift in the middle of the film about all the humans being fat, lazy and clumsy, and only able to lay around on floating beds all day while talking to each other through computers. The gluttonous humans had polluted the planet into such oblivion they might never be able to get back to Earth! During all of this is an amusing side story of Wall-e trying for all his might to get his deprived computer chips on the likes of a hot sophisticated modern female robot. Bottom line, too much politicizing and preachiness under the guise of a candy-coated cutesy movie for the kids. Also, if you're a large size person this movie may really rub you the wrong way. I was disappointed that with the talent and sophistication of the animation, the enjoyment of the movie took a real back seat to the propaganda-like agenda of the film makers.

perfect animation, great story, it's cute no doubt about it, and not the 'funniest' or the 'wittiest' but an original story done in amazing animation with some deeper meaning. 5 stars.

The opening half of the movie was brilliant-- a lone robot on planet Earth after Earth's environment has been destroyed, little to no dialogue, his only companion an amazingly cute cockroach. The love/friendship themes between WALL-E and EVE are adorable, and the entire thing creates a sort of melancholy sentimentality that was very sweet and moving. Then we get into space, and the movie becomes downright insulting, going so far as to suggest that people with weight problems are all lazy slobs who do nothing all day long, and that people who use the internet don't communicate with the world around them. A few highlighted human characters are endearing-- I loved the captain of the space ship-- but overall, the movie just loses steam here. Who would have thought that an action/adventure story could be less interested than a bittersweet portrait of a postapocalyptic earth? We get both of them in this movie and the latter is stronger by far.

This movie was bit of a disappointment. A very slow pace and a bit boring.

Very cute. One of the better movies Pixar has made in awhile. I though it ws a little bit drawn out, but my 2 year who never sits through a movie sat through the entire movie. Not much dialogue, but I didn't seem to notice.

I absolutely loved this movie. I have been waiting over a month to see it and finally did today. I was expecting more of the old style Pixar films of funny, plucky characters, good story, and a light message, instead I got something more akin to an old school Disney film, Charlotte's Web, The Secret of Nimn or Iron Giant. A movie that I thought was beautiful, I was touched, and I was crying by the end. It was so sweet and rich with humanity. I walked away from this film feeling like I want to make a difference and further recognizing the importance of what we have around us and our need to take care of our planet, ourselves and our minds. The people that don't like this movie are exactly "who" the movie is talking about. People who don't want to take responsibility for their actions who like to: rot their brains, rot their bodies, rot our planet. I thought it was beautiful that they finally told a story like this as an animated film, something that is also appropriate for children and will make a lasting impression on how to live their lives and be responsible for themselves and the things around them. I truly wish there were more films like this, and that film execs will take the time to finally notice that the big grossing films of this year are GOOD movies with GOOD stories. Can we please start putting quality into our celluloid instead of a bunch of round house kicks and explosions. Thank you.

This was one of the best movies ever! It tells people how much we rely on machines and how we are getting fat.

The animation was fantastic. The storyline was deeper than your average kid's flick some smaller kids might get antsy because the movie is slow to start and there is not much dialog. NOT as good as Toy Story or Finding Nemo but FAR better than The Reef. Overall it's a cute film.
