This is the worst movie ever. I haven't walked out on a movie before until now. I am in shock especially with a movie with such hype, but the casting was bad, acting worst and the special effects mediocre. I can only say one positive thing about this movie, the style of this director is incredible, but he did not handle well putting the story together and felt no connection with the characters, plus it was slow even in the action scenes. I suggest waiting for it to come out on DVD.

Parents --- DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS TO SEE THIS. I can never understand why movie makers have to spend half an hour showing masked crusaders doing 'it' when they should be saving the world. Rorshak was great but everything else was sloppy... like a pointlessly bad soft porn "B" movie. I imagine the movie makers as a bunch of 20 year olds saying "hey dude, wouldn't this idea be great? yeah dude! Let's put that in too!" "Oh yeah, and then he can like, rape her from behind... and then, oh yeah, we can make a gnarly flying ship that looks like goggles and sprays fire... and then they can do 'it' in there ... like, up in the sky and everything... and then they can totally kick as* after." And how sad is it, half way through the movie (an hour and a half) seeing both neighbors sleeping...

First in response to Alo0821 ignorant review. I would like to bring to your attention that Watchmen is based on a graphic novel and was not created by a buntch of Obama bashers. And besides this movie has been in production for a few years now and I highly doubt that they had the time to go back and change the entire plot of the movie a month before it comes out just to hate on Obama. One last thing on this, Ozymandias is nothing like Obama. Ozymandias was the smartest man in the world and Obama just thinks that he is. But I'm willing to bet they would keep the same company like Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers. Any way the movie was pretty good. It's not your everyday super hero movie the characters are more human than they are super. My only coimplaint is that I think we could have done without seeing Dr. Manhattan's penis every ten minutes other than that it was pretty good.

In my day this would have been an X or even XX movie, escpecially when it comes to the totally naked, blue man and sex scenes. Nothing was left to the imagination there. The visual effects with regard to the fight scenes was good, but that was about it. The story line was OK, but the movie seemed to just drag on and on. For the cost of movies these days, one would think they should get more out of a 2hr 45min film. This movie is not worth your time or money. Ron Howard should be ashamed of himself.

I consider myself to be intellectual. Some reviews say the movie had depth and only those who only care about action will be disappointed but I didn't like it because I thought the theme that was illustrated in the movie was kind of two dimensional (just like the characters) this is definitely not an intellectual film but it tries to be (a lot of added layers that just make the movie longer and are in my opinion irrelevant to the overall theme). It should have been more intellectual or just a typical action movie, I think this movie fails in both aspects which makes it dry.

well this movie was complete garbage. Is it me or was this totally anit obama? first of all the skinny, smart guy who wants to get rid of big oil...who does that sound like to you? im guessing that the people who directed this movie didnt vote for obama...i mean think about it..when the hoard of angry white old guys come in the office to complain that the socialist idea of free energy will ruin the capitalist...now i know why the critics want to leave it alone...oh and have you seen enough digital penis? i mean jeez all the sex scenes and male ass shots and boob shots and hyper blue penis shots...this movie was so bad man..the only good thing about my experience in the movie was the trailers...terminator..star trek..that mall cop movie with seth rogan..please someone tell the producers of watchmen that the secret is out..they are obviously bashing the left...oh and the main guy..roscarch...or how ever you spell his name...he was so homophobic it was laughable..not to mention that one of the "super heros" supposedly kills kennedy with the head shot looking real...and he's the hero...yeah right...

This movie was all hype and incredibly disappointing. What a waste of nearly 3 hours. I had to fight myself to stay seated and not walk out and then the challenge of staying awake because of the boring factor. I never like to say harsh things about a movie but this one sucked. Save your money and wait for X-men 4 to come out. Watchmen is definitely a rental. I read some of the reviews before writing and agree completely with jpkphotographer.

The movie was excellent. If you appreciate the book at all then you will not be disappointed with this movie in the least bit. The action, plot, characters... all perfect. I was into it all 3 hours of the movie, and i must say Rorschach is the man. Great movie, check it out.
