It's a good thing that forgiveness is a predominant theme of Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day, because viewers will have to look deep into their hearts to forgive this kidnapping drama for its heavy-handed melodrama and tawdry plot elements. show more

"Woman" is in essence an earnestly competent, slightly overcooked B-movie potboiler, with ideas of faith occasionally added to frame the story as parable. show more

Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day is crammed with enough melodramatic incident for three movies, all of them seemingly scripted by Tyler Perry in a very foul mood. show more

GOOD STORY...but highly predictable. When you go to see anything Jakes or Perry there is a message but no one wants it to be OBVIOUS because people like to decide what their messages are in movies for themselves. (Interpret art for themselves) BUT AMATEURISH MOVIE-MAKING is when there is a great moment of brilliance in the movie (like the detective is so smart he realizes that the killer could have worn big shoes with lots of socks) and then the mother goes to the house after days of her daughter\'s kidnapping and find the shoes by the front door--THAT insulted our intelligence. Or, the character says, \"God, where are you?\' And then the director fades to the clouds and there is an echo: \'God, where...?\" That\'s amateurish and I think the box office numbers will show that. The professionals carried this movie as best they could: Sharon Leal shined as best she could with that fake script. Your child is missing so you don\'t go to your million-dollar neighborhood to get drunk, you go where you struggled to leave; you couldn\'t just have had a flash back. Something was wrong with it but the audience forgave it because of the other characters in the background in Skumsville--they made it real, but even more the script tied her toughness then to the moment we all loved and that was when the mother was about to do some real damage to the kidnapper...and the child said no. That was on the edge but we liked it, we liked the child saying no but we loved the fierceness of the mother: DON\'T MESS WITH OUR KIDS...you can have that man but don\'t mess with our children. There is or was a chance for big box office with this production but the script, the script; we need better scripts all the way round coming out of Hollywood.--MO

I enjoyed the story, characters and acting. I was also happy that it took place in Louisiana, post katrina. It focuses on many important themes. Thanks TD Jakes and cast. Loved Pam Grier, Blair Underwood and Nicoye.

Excellent movie. I am going back again to see it and I can\'t wait until it comes out on DVD. It is a must have for my film library. The entire move is dealing with today\'s issues of life. This movie is a must see movie. It will make you walk away thinking of how to make changes in your life.

Good movie. It was a mystery. The story line was believable. I thought it was well acted. Pam G. was great and Blair U. acting was fantastic as usual..

Great acting, deep message in this movie. Story was \"real life\" in that ending did not portray an unbelievable get back together scene. Jakes cameo scene at church could have been a better selection but overall not too heavy on church. Great to see Pam Grier. So sad actors such as Underwood and Leal are not given opportunities in mainstream movies. Thank God for venues such as this! Great work!!!

don\'t waste your time or money. It made me put at least one star to submit this. I love Sharon Leal so it was a real disappointment. :(
