I normally love this type of movie - a suspenseful thriller - one that makes you think. What a letdown! The movie sets you up, but leaves you without a plot or characters you care about, and just wanting to leave the theater. Yes, the 60's were well-portrayed, and the acting was good. I stayed because the story kept teasing that something was finally going to happen, but each time the story fell flat and went no where. The ending was the biggest disappointment of all. It left you with paragraphs to read - if you even cared by that time what happened. The audience left shaking their heads - probably thinking the same thing I was - what a waste! I'd give it a 50.

the movie was really long and I just wanted it to finish cause it was kind of boring, I saw people sleeping. But if your a feind like jake Gyllenhaal's character go watch it!

I just watched this movie and I thought it was great! I can't believe other moviegoers thought this was boring. I was sucked in throughout the whole movie. Other commenters here are right -if you love crime drama than this is the movie for you! I absolutely recommend it. It's a great addition to CourtTV and A

This film couldn't decide what it wanted to be.It ended up as "Dragnet" meets "City Confidential" - only much, much, much longer and less satisfying. It was not much better than a tv crime docudrama. Little humor or suspense. There should have been more emphasis on the backgrounds of Zodiac suspects and less on the reporter played by Robert Downey Jr. and the police detectives.I thought Jake Gyllenhaal(sp??) was miscast. Too flakey, not passionate enough to be character willing to give up everything to write a true crime book. He didn't seem to age at all either which made the time line very confusing.

Im sorry but Jake Gyllenhall just doesnt do it for me. Sorta like Naomi Watts. Not horrible or anything just flat. Anyway thats my 2 cents

This film is better suited for people who don't expect everything to be served on a silver platter. You have to have some patience to follow along with the time table and the movie being 160 minutes! But, this film is definately for fans of drama/crime genre. It's a gripping and chilling tale which, at the beginning, gives you that uneasy feeling when you have to look over your shoulder a few times. Then halfway through the film you get so into what's happening . . . that I think only 2 people in the entire theatre got up to use the restroom or whatever else.I highly recommend seeing this film. The only thing that sort of bothered me in the film, and another user review stated this, Jake Gyllenhaal's character never seems to age over the years the film depicts, but everyone else seems to show the signs of aging?

Good movie. The only thing that can scare you is, that do you wondere, is Zodiac dead or alive. Does he live in my town or does he live right next to me. Who knows, no one.

I'm going to admit...Zodiac was not such a bad movie. Though, the movie was the longest movie I've seen since LOTR when I was back in the 8th grade. The plot was amazing, I really did understand why the movie was the way it was. Like the movie, the case of the Zodiac killer was drawn out. And if the director hadn't drawn out the movie, it wouldn't have given the true story justice. The acting was amazing. The only part of the movie I hated was the end. They had the man, but he died of a fatal heart attack.....A FREAKIN HEART ATTACK! you can't be serious. I was sooo mad. Such a great plot and it ended with the prime suspect dying of a fatal heart attack. If that's not a disappointing ending, I don't want is. But...everything else is good.

I'm one of the old people that lived in northern California during that time and remember the Zodiac killings well. I thought the movie was very interesting and the acting was great. No, it wasn't a "Smokin Aces" (thank God) but it was all about the psychological effect the killer had on those involved in the case. It's a shame that the younger generation needs lots of special effects and blood and guts to enjoy a movie...

Saw this last night and thought it was well done. If you're coming to see action packed teen ager slasher movie, this isn't for you. More of a psychological thriller and how the Zodiac case affected those who were working to solve it. As if the killer intending it that way, which, I believe, he did.
