This film is better suited for people who don't expect everything to be served on a silver platter. You have to have some patience to follow along with the time table and the movie being 160 minutes! But, this film is definately for fans of drama/crime genre. It's a gripping and chilling tale which, at the beginning, gives you that uneasy feeling when you have to look over your shoulder a few times. Then halfway through the film you get so into what's happening . . . that I think only 2 people in the entire theatre got up to use the restroom or whatever else.I highly recommend seeing this film. The only thing that sort of bothered me in the film, and another user review stated this, Jake Gyllenhaal's character never seems to age over the years the film depicts, but everyone else seems to show the signs of aging?

To those who say Zodiac is too long, too boring, etc. I say please go back to watching the real life on mtv. Or haloween/freddy/nightmare/jason part 59 or something. Zodiac is the kind of film that anyone who has a remote interest in good filmmaking will thorougly enjoy. It is an American classic and deserves to be seen by everyone. The film has it's moments of fright but mainly this is a police drama that unfolds in a brilliant way and keeps the audience interested. The script is brilliantly written. The three hour long film never loses focus on it's main story line. Usually films of this lenght ponder on other matters that the characters are going through but not this film. The incredible writing, acting and Fincher's direction keeps the entire film on the edge. This is a good film by all standards. I hope it becomes a giant hit. Go see it now!!!

I enjoyed the movie but it was way too long and the only times i wasn't checking my watch every 5 minutes was 30 minutes into the movie and 45 minutes before the movie ended.

I normally love this type of movie - a suspenseful thriller - one that makes you think. What a letdown! The movie sets you up, but leaves you without a plot or characters you care about, and just wanting to leave the theater. Yes, the 60's were well-portrayed, and the acting was good. I stayed because the story kept teasing that something was finally going to happen, but each time the story fell flat and went no where. The ending was the biggest disappointment of all. It left you with paragraphs to read - if you even cared by that time what happened. The audience left shaking their heads - probably thinking the same thing I was - what a waste! I'd give it a 50.

this is NOT a good film. it drags, too much dialogue, too much exposition, not enough real film-making here. too many facts being thrown out of the mouths of the actors, and worse yet constant titles on the screen, "2 days later" "3 weeks later" "4 months later" "2 1/2 years later" This is something a good film does not need. So what if this story is based on "real events", make a movie and discard all the technical chronology and get your viewers on the edge of their seat. Also, you don't know if you're supposed to pay attention to those titles, do they mean something? The facts and figures and story never pays off to a satisfying result. The ending is sooooo completely lame. The actors are all fine, especially Robert Downey and Mark Ruffalo, Jake is also fine, but I NEVER dose in a movie and i started to dose a couple times having to catch myself. This film is the worst adaptation of a book ever. Please spare yourself the waste of time and don't even rent it on video. Go see something fresh and exciting like Children of Men or Notes on a Scandal.

This was a long, confusing movie. You will leave the theater, not knowing what the film was about. You will leave unsatisfied. I was very excited going in to this blockbuster. I was very disappointed coming out.

This was a real interesting movie, and I liked it, but it is alittle long and alittle slow. It is much more about the investigating of the crime than it is about seeing the crime. Don't expect fireworks!
