Personally I was a little disappointed with the film as the special effects were brillient and the cast were beautifully written into their parts but to me the film did not capture the excitiment of the film where some parts were boring and not nescessary needed for the film to be going over the top. The fight scene at the end could of been better where more action could be play to a degree where the film would of been much more good all round entertaining film. In any case this film must be a slow build up to what happen next which I hope the next film will delight more fans

People, get real...there will be things cut from the books, duh...you have to cut several hundred pages down to 2.5 hours and I think they kept the essentials. Since the new minister of magic dies at the beginning of book 7, he's not relevant to understanding the next movie. They did pay a tribute to Dumbledore, even though it wasn't as lengthy, and I'm guessing the trio will run off during Lupin and Tonk's wedding since they definitely got it through to the audience that those two were serious. And I think it was more important to show how hard it is to get to a horcrux and how much was put into something "worthless" than it was to show the violence of an attack on hogwarts. Yes, i wish they had filmed the attack but I guess they just did not want to move the date back any further. Besides, I'm sure they'll make up for the attack scene when the showdown in book 7 is filmed.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but from the previews it sounds ok. Just really lovey dovey. I can't believe they would leave out Dumbledore's funeral. I hope the next two movies follow the storyline beter.

Did JKR lose her control over the story line? I agree with most of the above comments. I was very disappointed.

After reading the first few pages of posts, I think I agree with most posters. There was far too much emphasis on who was in love with who, and not enough on the actual story-line. And did it seem to anyone else that maybe there were additional scenes filmed, then cut, but then referenced in scenes that were kept in? Overall, though, it was a pretty good movie. (If the powers that be are worried about trying to fit all the details from the lengthy novels into the movies, all I have to say is I'm sure most Potter fans wouldn't mind longer movies, or even if they made more of them into two parters, like they're doing for the last one.)

Can you please find someone to make the potter movies the right way. just read the book and follow it ,and if you cant do it in one movie make it in two parts. Good thing in the movies if you dont make it right the first time you can make the movie over and over.

I liked the movie overall but I was dissapointed that they completely left out Dumbledore's funeral and the fight scene at the end. I also wondered why they left out Bill and Fleur completely, how will Harry run away from thier wedding reception if it makes no sense to anyone but the readers that Fleur and Bill are even getting married. I also thought that Dumbledore should have left from Hogsmeade like he really did, just because he's Dumbledore doesn't mean that there are special rules that let him disapparate in the school, he's never been able to do it before.
