Well, I agree, the movie left out A LOT of things the book had, but it was an ok movie. I think the ending could have been much better, I think it kinda fizzled out. I am a huge Harry fan, and I was slightly disappointed in the movie. I hope HP 7 is a make up.

Don't compare the book and the movie series, they're their own thing...two different but similar lines. The movies are just one take on the original story. I liked the movie a lot, I can't wait for DH now.

Key scenes from the book were missing, such as the meeting with the new minister of magic at the beginning, and the funeral / ceremony at the end for Dumbledore... they substituted having them all point their wands skyward and Voldemort's sign dissipating for that one. They also left out the relationship between Percy and Fleur, and the Weasley's house wasn't destroyed, it just wasn't considered safe to stay there after the attack. Surprising changes since Rowling has had so much say-so over the productions before this, but personally the thing with Percy and Fleur was a good call and I'll go with the others. I thought the teenage angst was pretty right on and hilarious, they are teens after all and this is about growing up becoming adults. I did notice that Harry didn't know about all the horcruxes but don't remember if he did at this point in the books or learned it on his own. Maybe I will reread it. Looking forward to the next movies and hope they do the last book justice.

If you'd been a fan of The Wizard of Oz books, you wouldn't even recognize the movie! Accomodations have to be made for the flow of the film, and artistic license takes over when a huge book has to be put into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Sure, parts were changed, but I think the important things will be cleared up in the 7th movie. All in all , it was an exciting take on a much-beloved book. Excellent translation to film!

Why can't they just stick to the books, why mess up a good thing??? The books were popular, interesting, exciting, you couldn't wait for the next issue to come out. Half Blood Prince sucked Royally. I doubt I will have an interest in the next film. Complete yawn material.

You people are all high. Who the hell cares if Dumbledore is gay.? My God it just goes to show how patheitc of a society we are. People get real! Yeas I understand there were things left out, but my son and I who he grew up with this loved it. For once can we stop overanaylzing crap?! I mean ooh yeah lately they are making such great movies. I think you have to have a mind and an ounce of intelligence to appreciate this. Go and see Bruno that idiot seems more your speed.

I went thru a lot to see this movie and I have to say it wasn't worth the effort. I can tell you sincerely that this movie did not hold mine or anyone elses interest in our theatre. The best thing about the movie was the popcorn !!! With the money these movies have raked in over the years, you'd think the special effects would be thru the roof. It made very little sense so I think the best parts of this movie ended up on the cutting room floor... The Britts hve no flair for this sort of thing they should turn the last movie over to Spielberg, then you'd have a great movie, one you'd want to see several times, as for this one once was to much.

This movie suckeddddd! I went to the 11:59 showing the day it came out. I was soooo excited and then this movie totally ruined the experience for me. I mean, come on! How the hell are they gonna show the 7th movie accurately when they left out all the important details from the 6th? i agree with a lot of you guys. J. K. Rowling is an AMAZINGGGG writer and yes her books rival the Lord of the Rings or whatevr you wanna compare it to... so i just wish that the directors didnt rush through these movies to make fast bucks, and instead took the ime to do a good job.

Having not read The Half Blood Prince, I appreciate some of the comments that clarified a few things I did not understand when I watched the movie. Example: why Harry just stood there and watched Dumbledore be killed. I am amazed by the creativity and talent of Ms JK and agree that key points of any story should be kept when it translates into film. Now I definately will have to read the book to fill in the missing pieces.
