This Friday night, April 30th at Landmark's
Sunshine Theater in downtown Manhattan (NYC, not Kansas), acclaimed Canadian writer/director Guy
Maddin will take part in a Q&A following the 7:30pm screening of his latest film, The Saddest Music in
the World (IFC Films). Maddin's other groundbreaking works include Cowards Bend the Knee, Dracula:
Pages from a Virgin's Diary, and The Heart of the World. The screenplay for Saddest Music was co-written
by Kazuo Ishiguro, writer of the novel The Remains of the Day. The film stars
Isabella Rossellini (pic at right), Mark McKinney (TV's "Kids in the Hall") and
Maria de Madeiros (Pulp Fiction).
Having been lucky enough to meet Maddin and attend a Q&A following a screening of the exquisite Dracula, I urge everyone to attend this event. You'll be glad you did!
