Considering that the Lord of the Rings phenomena is as much about the expectations and activities of its attendant fan cult, as it is about the J. R. R. Tolkien books from which the films are sourced, it's no surprise that those fans finally have their own movie, all about them. Ringers: Lord of the Fans, directed by Carlene Cardova, will have its world premiere on Friday, January 21 in Park City as part of the Slamdance Film Festival. Ringers: Lord of the Fans traces the evolution of the Lord of the Rings fan cult over 50 years from the fan's point of view. Narrated by former Hobbit (and current Lost star) Dominic Monaghan, it features interviews with and appearances by Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin,  Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies, additional assorted Lord of the Rings cast members, Clive Barker, David Carradine, and other famous, semi-famous, and completely anonymous nerds.
