Publicist Bumble Ward - flack for indie directors Paul Thomas Anderson, Sofia Coppola, and Quentin Tarantino, among others - is giving up the P.R game to write a novel. Ward has heretofore been an instrumental enabler of the director-as-star ethos chronicled recently by Sharon Waxman in Rebels on the Backlot (a review of which, by the way, I'm working on as we speak). The Los Angeles Times (via Movie City News) has the full story, and an interview with the gal herself.
