British bookmakers are so certain that Jamie Foxx will win the Oscar for Best Actor this Sunday, they've stopped taking bets in the category. As a spokesman from betting outfit Ladbrokes told the BBC, "There's no point in betting when he's almost a certainty." The agency claims his numeric odds of winning are 1:16; his closest competitor, Leonardo DiCaprio, carried odds of 8:1. The BBC article also suggests that whilst bookies have pegged The Aviator as winning Best Picture, the Best Director race between Martin Scorsese and Clint Eastwood is locked in a dead heat.
