sophie-and-bobby.jpgStraight Line is the fourth film I've seen at SXSW in which the director appears in front of the camera in a major role. This time, it's Sean Ackerman as Bobby, an impossibly well-groomed young man who moves to Montana from Chicago after his mother's apparently tragic death. I say "apparently" because whilst we're clearly suppossed to believe that this was a painful experience for Bobby, Ackerman doesn't seem overtly concerned with doing the necessary work, as an actor or as a director, to fuel that cause.
