Variety is reporting that New Line has purchased rights to Killing Yourself to Live: 85% a True Story, a memoir by SPIN Senior Editor Chuck Klosterman. In the book, to be published by Simon & Schuster this June, Klosterman suffers a one-third-life crisis whilst on a SPIN assignment to tour famous rock-star death sites. New Line has set the title up under the auspices of producer Mike Karz, the man behind First Daughter and Malibu's Most Wanted, and executive producer Russell Hollander. Klosterman is a divisive figure in the world of rock criticism. His first book, Fargo Rock City, became un underground classic; in 2003 he published a book of pop culture essays, Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs.
